CRONIMET, a well-known scrap stainless steel supplier in Europe, commenced operations in the United States in September, 1997, as CRONIMET Corporation. Shortly thereafter, CRONIMET started an intensive effort on its quality system with the goal of ISO 9002 registration by the end of its second year in the U.S.
Less than 6 months after its arrival in the United States, additional facilities were opened in Houston, TX, and Chicago, IL. Partnerships were also formed with companies in Philadelphia, PA (stainless steel scrap) and Linden, NJ (tungsten carbide).
Less than 18 months after starting its intensive effort on formalizing its entire quality systems, CRONIMET was approved and granted ISO 9002 Registration of its quality system. An additional facility was opened in Decatur, AL in September, 1999.
